Problem Solver – Katherine is a problem solver. Let Katherine know the problems you are seeing and experiencing, and let’s discuss possible legislative solutions. She has a proven track record of not only achieving goals, but doing so quickly and creatively – she thinks “outside the box” to address needs. In just four short years, she not only founded the Wisconsin Association of Free & Charitable Clinics (WAFCC), but under Katherine's leadership, WAFCC became a national leader; states across the country are looking at Wisconsin and how our safety net clinics deliver high quality care to the uninsured and under-insured residents.
Fierce Advocate – Katherine is passionate and determined, she is known for not accepting “it can’t be done” as an answer. She is a Town of Delavan Supervisor and serves as a board member for the Delavan Lake Improvement Association (DLIA) and United Way of Walworth County. She has organized advocacy days at the capitol for safety net clinics and their patients & volunteer providers. She will be a fierce advocate for you and District 32.
Policy Experience – As a Town of Delavan Supervisor, Katherine writes and votes for ordinances and resolutions along with implements state laws at a local level. Katherine is on the State Treasurers’ Homeowners Task Force. She explains, “I have heard too many stories about residents losing their homes because they had a medical bill or job loss that caused them to fall behind on their mortgage,” said Gaulke. “I’m excited to create early interventions to decrease delinquencies and foreclosure and identify ways to further empower residents to improve their financial health.” Additionally, Katherine has testified to the Committee on Colleges and Universities about Wisconsin's healthcare gaps.
